Statistics: Russia’s unemployment falls 0.3 pp to 5.6% in May
MOSCOW, Jun 20 (PRIME) -- Russian unemployment fell 0.3 percentage points on the month in May to 5.6% of the labor force, or 4.3 million people, the Federal State Statistics Service said in a statement on Monday.
The number of unemployed people registered with employment services amounted to 1 million, and 900,000 received unemployment benefits.
The number of economically active people stood at 76.5 million, which is 52% of the entire population.
The Economic Development Ministry expects Russia’s unemployment at 5.8% in 2016.
